Willemstad, 24 February 2015 – On Tuesday February 24th, CHATA held its quarterly member meeting at CHATA Member Avila Hotel. The member meeting is a platform where CHATA invites speakers to present on current issues of importance to the business and tourism sector. During this meeting CHATA also takes the opportunity to provide a quick update on the performance of the sector and to introduce new projects. The topics of this afternoon were Tax Changes presented by PWC and Employee Satisfaction presented by D&I Business Support. In light of the recently introduced tax changes and the importance of compliance CHATA deems it necessary that its member remain up to date. Therefore Mrs. Zuleika Lasten and Mr. Terrence Melendez from PWC provided an overview of the important Tax Changes and their impact on the business and the tourism industry. Another topic of extreme importance to the tourism sector is employee satisfaction. Seldom do we provide attention to the impact of employee satisfaction on the quality of service. However a happy and satisfied employee is more likely to provide high quality service than an employee who is dissatisfied. Mr. Daniël Corsen from D&I Business Support went further into details on the importance of employee satisfaction and provided practical tools on how to improve the latter. During this meeting CHATA also provided an overview of its new projects and achievements for 2015. CHATA introduced its new brand identity, which reflects the new direction of the organization. According to the President & CEO of CHATA , Mrs. Lizanne Dindial CHATA is a tone setting, dynamic and vibrant organization and its new brand identity now accurately reflects the organization that we are at heart. During 2015, an important focus for CHATA is going to be the Restaurant Task Force, Small Accommodations Task Force and Dive Task Force. In collaboration with its members CHATA is developing several projects, which contribute to the growth of these sectors.
