WILLEMSTAD (CTB) — Music superstar Prince will be headlining the impressive roster of performers for the highly anticipated 4th Annual Curacao North Sea Jazz Festival. Prince, who has produced ten platinum albums and thirty Top 40 singles during his career joins an impressive musical roster with some of the most popular artists on the planet: legendary divas Diana Ross and Gladys Knight, The Roots, Erykah Badu, Marc Anthony, Toto, Luis Miguel, Raphael Saadiq, Los Lobos, Harry Belafonte, Paul Anka, New Cool Collective, and many others. Prince replaces Usher, who was previously scheduled to perform. Prince has been an indelible part of music history since the early 1980s with a long list of hit singles to his name – written both for himself and for others – and has sold over one hundred million albums. His list of awards include seven Grammy Awards, a Golden Globe and an Academy Award. Gladys Knight, known as the “Empress of Soul”, has sold millions of albums world-wide over her 40 year career. Diana Ross, deemed the “Female Entertainer of the Century” by the Guinness Book of World Records, boasts 70 hit singles. These musical superstars, along with many others, will converge on Curacao’s stage to showcase their talents to an international audience. “The Curacao North Sea Jazz Festival is growing into one of the best music festivals in the world and headlining acts like Prince, Luis Miguel, Gladys Knight and Diana Ross cements the Festival’s reputation. Curacao competes as an A-list destination for music and cultural tourism in the Caribbean,” says Andre Rojer, Marketing Manager North America, Curaçao Tourist Board.
