On May 31, Curaçao will experience her first ever International Rum Festival. This festival is organized by the Downtown Management Organization with the main purpose to bring a new culinary and authentic experience to Curaçao and our historic Punda.

During the Festival, which will take place on Marichi in Punda, visitors will experience over 20 different rum brands from Curaçao, the Caribbean and Latin America. Specially for this festival, 6 international rum ambassadors will be present to host masterclasses where visitors can learn everything about the rum from the experts themselves.

Visitors can compete in a long-ash cigar competition, experience the launch of Brugal 1888 on Curaçao, and meet Curaçao’s best cocktail shakers. Next to rums and rum cocktails, they can enjoy good cigars, excellent chocolate, live music and good food.

This unique event will put Punda and Curaçao on the map. With over 20 different rum brands participating at this festival, the event can be compared to world class events such as the Rum Festivals in New York, Jamaica and Barbados.
