Luxury Caribbean Resort Opens Two New Food and Drink Venues

CURAÇAO (April 2019) – Santa Barbara Beach & Golf Resort this season adds two new dining options to its catalog of food and drink venues: Burgers & Beers and The Great Room. These latest additions to Santa Barbara’s menu of dining locales expands the resort’s culinary experiences with an on-the-sand burger and sandwich shack and a lobby lounge with seafood-centric bites. Concepted and developed by the resort’s executive chef, Chris Hrybiniak, Burgers & Beers and The Great Room become the sixth and seventh dining venues located at the AAA Four Diamond-rated property. Additional options include Santa Barbara’s main restaurant, Medi; open air, fine dining at Shore; and Splash Pool Bar & Grill; plus the independently-operated Boca19 at the resort’s Old Quarry golf course and the Italian café and coffee shop, Bella Italia.

“Santa Barbara Beach & Golf Resort continually looks to evolve the experiences we offer our guests, and that includes the way they eat,” said the resort’s general manager, Rob de Bekker. “Food is an integral part of how we explore the world and our team wants to show we understand that. We never want our guests to feel limited in what they can do at our resort. For us, that reaches well beyond activities and amenities. That also includes our culinary offerings. Unless you want to, you never have to eat the same thing twice at Santa Barbara.”

Located waterfront at the resort’s private beach lagoon, Burgers & Beers presents Curaçao’s most diverse selection of house-made burgers, as well as chicken, seafood, and vegetarian sandwiches, and hot dogs. Here, guests find a menu stacked with eats that appeal to both the simplest tastes and more bold palates: the Brasserie burger with caramelized onion, gruyere and brie cheeses, and truffle aioli; the Gang Nam Style burger with crispy pork belly, pickled cucumber, nori flakes, sesame seeds, and miso butter; The Godfather with fried chicken, pomodoro sauce, mozzarella sticks, parmesan cheese, and arugula; The “Good Stuff” sandwich with crispy frikandel, gouda cheese, Amsterdam onions, and curry ketchup; and the Sonoran Dog with guacamole, picco de gallo, sour cream, queso blanco, jalapeno, cilantro, and tortilla crumbs.

The Great Room delivers a more sophisticated, lounge-like atmosphere set in Santa Barbara Beach & Golf Resort’s open-air lobby. Guests visiting The Great Room will nosh on dishes such as ahi tuna tacos; mahi mahi corn dogs; nachos with wonton skins, crab salad, and wasabi cream; BBQ pork belly steam buns, and a selection of fresh sushi. A creative cocktail menu complements with cool concoctions such as the SBR Swizzle with Malibu coconut rum and watermelon; and The Lotus with scotch, whisky, and honey ginger thyme syrup.
