CHATA started the Stars of the Industry Program to give special recognition to our Stars – Best Employees and Supervisors – during the year. This not only to reward them but also to stimulate them to keep doing a great job.
On a yearly basis CHATA request the hotels and allied members to nominate their elected Employee and Supervisor of the Year. This program is also done by the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHTA). CHATA uses the same forms as CHTA uses and based on the forms received an election committee will evaluate the forms and elect the best Employee and Supervisor. Through the completed forms – filled by the managers, supervisors, peers and guest we will get to know the nominees.

The Employee and Supervisor of the Year winners are Suzanne La Paz-Leonora, Sales Coordinator (Employee) from the Renaissance Curacao Resort & Casino and Sherman Janze, Housekeeping Supervisor from the Curacao Marriott Beach Resort & Emerald Casino
They will be nominated to compete for the title of Caribbean Employee and Supervisor of the year. All nominees received 1500 points as reward sponsored by FUN Miles and the winners received 15.000 FUN Miles, and Day passes at Sunscape Curacao Resort, Spa & Casino. Additionally the winners received an exchange to Bonaire where they will meet other employees/supervisors and experience the hospitality on another island and in another culture. The winners will be tail gating in a hotel in the same function/position on the island. Their tickets are sponsored by Inselair and their stay/program arranged by our sister association BONHATA (Bonaire Hotel & Tourism Association).
