Event research contributes to college’s increased ShanghaiRanking
Orlando, FL (October 30, 2020) — UCF Rosen College of Hospitality Management was ranked as one of the premiere hospitality and tourism programs in the world by the ShanghaiRanking listing of 500 of the world’s top universities. The ShanghaiRanking Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2020 also ranked Rosen College’s program No.1 in the United States when rankings were release in June 2020. This is the new academic global ranking by the prestigious Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) (http://www.shanghairanking.com/Shanghairanking-Subject-Rankings/hospitality-tourism-management.html ). The Chronicle of Higher Education says that the ShanghaiRanking is considered the most influential ranking among world-renowned universities.
The caliber of researchers at UCF Rosen College is a point of pride for UCF and contributes to the ShanghaiRanking. Rosen College researchers, under the leadership of Dr. Robertico Croes, Associate Dean for Research, has secured more than $8 million in grants and contracts and has generated more than 300 journal articles published in reputable scientific journals.
UCF Rosen College researchers have also consulted in many countries around the globe with increasing awareness of their publications and reports. In the past few years, these publications and reports have been downloaded more than 27,000 times. Among the most downloaded reports were the reports about the Curacao North Sea Jazz Festival (CNSJF), with more than 7,800 downloads, which represents more than 25% of the total downloads of UCF Rosen College’s research work. The enormous popularity of the CNSJF in the entertainment and tourism world enjoyed enormous spillover in the scholarly community.
