Willemstad- Curacao Airport Partners (CAP) is currently having intensive training sessions for all airport security and operations colleagues.  More than 100 CAP employees are involved in this training. The sessions have a duration of sixteen (16) hours. The first aid training/ recertification takes place on an annual basis to ensure that immediate actions can be taken in case of any emergency at the airport.  This is an International Civil Aviation Organization requirement for the Fire Department and is an ICAO recommendation for the rest of the personnel such as airport operations and airport security. As CAP takes these courses related to safety of airport operations very seriously, all recommended personal are required to complete the trainings and recertification as well. Next year, CAP will be purchasing  AED  (Automated External Defibrillator) machines and placed strategically throughout the airport facilities to further assist trained emergency responders.
