Council of Children visit Curaçao International Airport


Willemstad – Last Wednesday and Thursday Curaçao International Airport welcomed the youngsters of the Council of Children that were on a visit due to their ‘Tourism’ project. The Council of Children is an initiative of travel company TUI, and is derived from a Dutch concept created by Princess Laurentien van Oranje and UNICEF Nederland, with as objective; to create more dialogue between the youth of Curaçao and representatives of the different sectors, in order to connect youth more directly with tourism. The youngsters arrived at the airport serving as a press team and interviewed CAP employees and various members of the airport community. While enjoying a tour around the airport; a visit to the CAP Fire department where they wore fire men clothing and imitated fire extinguishing; and also by means of a visit to the VIP room where they were introduced to members of the CAP Management that gave them a special gift; the children got to know the touristic and safety aspects of the airport in a fun and educational way.
