Largest Caribbean-based carrier InselAir takes on Brazilian skies
On Wednesday January 14th, InselAir inaugurated its Aruba – Manaus route with an festive early gathering at Queen Beatrix International Airport during which Minister Oduber and InselAir Aruba CEO Frederick Nuboer addressed the audience and elaborated on this new route. After the official words and opening, the group proceeded to the gate and boarded for the 3-hour inaugural flight to Brigadeiro Eduardo Gomes International Airport in Manaus. InselAir was officially and warmly welcomed in Manaus by the traditional water salute, official words and food and drinks before flight 8i696 departed Manaus again. The flight was operated with a Regional 70, with 80 seats, which was acquired by InselAir earlier this year to support its growth plans. InselAir now has 19 aircraft, 600 employees, 22 destinations and expects to transport 1.4 million passengers in 2015. Fastest connection from Caribbean to Brazil “By launching this route we offer passengers from all our destinations via Aruba, and later this year also via Curacao, the fastest and easiest connection to Brazil. No need to make a huge de-tour anymore, but straight-away into North-brazil’, explains Frederick Nuboer, CEO of InselAir Aruba. “From Manaus, passengers are able to connect to other destinations in South-America, such as Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo as the, recently built, airport in Manaus offers many of such connections”, ends Nuboer. Aruba as hub to Bonaire, Curacao, Valencia (Venezuela) and Georgetown (Guyana) Passengers traveling directly from Manaus or connecting through from other Brazilian cities via Manaus now have a straight-forward connection into the Caribbean via InselAir’s hub on Aruba, where they have the option to spend a (couple of) day(s) before they continue their journey to one of the, in total 22, destinations of InselAir’s extensive multi-hub network. ‘Besides offering seamless connections to Bonaire, Curacao, Georgetown and Valencia, InselAir also offers passengers the option to travel to other InselAir destinations, such as Miami, St. Maarten, Surinam, Charlotte and Jamaica due to frequent flights between Aruba and Curacao,‘ says Nuboer.

More routes in 2015
InselAir will also add Miami – Havana to its network this month and will then serve 22 destinations from its hubs on Aruba and Curacao. This year, InselAir expects to add more routes to its network which, amongst other routes, include Cali and Bucaramanga in Colombia, San Juan in Puerto Rico and Quito in Ecuador.
